PMAY has approved construction of 1.4 Lakh and more Houses

The central authorities concerned with the department has approved 1.40 lakh & much construction of houses or apartments under PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Urban), consigned the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry.

“The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs has authorized the construction of roughly about 1,40,134  and more affordable houses for the advantage of urban poor class under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). The approval was finally assigned in the 45^th meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee under consent of chairmanship of HUA Secretary Durga Shanker Mishra.  In addition, the new & revised cumulative number of houses sanctioned under PMAY(U) now is 85,11,574” an official release stated.

The number of apartments or flats approved under scheme are equally distributed within states like Uttar Pradesh has got 54,277 houses, West Bengal 26,585, Gujarat 26,183, Maharashtra 8,499, Assam 9,328, Chhattisgarh 6,507, Rajasthan 4,947 and Haryana got 3,808 houses approximately observing the given numbers.

A total of ‘492 projects’ are accredited with lump sum amount of project cost of Rs 6,642 crore around about with central assistance of Rs 2,102 crore that has been permitted in the meeting held under the chairmanship of the Secretary of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
